   why dont you get him something that you can do together like tickets to a concert, game, or movie?
   that way you can personalize it to something he likes, and you can spend time together. plus when you buy material objects its usually something they didnt want / need anyway

   the candy is an AWESOME idea… u can make him something if he is gonna join the army something small he can take with to boot camp etc. but thats all i can think of… the kind of gifts i like to get my bf is things that he needs or at one point says he wants but never bought it … like he wears a watch every day(from his great grandfather) and it died over a yr. a go so i bought him a battery today for it… like that kind of stuff works too

    make him something special. what are you good at?

    if……..

    drawing/painting: make him a pic of you two

    singing: write him a song and sing it

    cooking: make him a cake or something with an edible pic of u on it or something

    ect.
